Much of chapters 33 and 34 are concerning the possession and apportioning the promised land, even though they were not in it yet. I am reminded of a phrase we have all heard many times: “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.” Faith and obedience offers us, as Christians, the right to count and expect unhatched chickens, as long as we are in and doing God’s will. As a matter of fact, it is part of our responsibility. I am not a big fan of a “Name It and Claim It” mentality; however, operating in obedient faith is a defining characteristic of a Christian.
Romans 1:17 … “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”
1 – Enter the land
2 – Drive out inhabitants
3 – Destroy false gods and high places
4 – Take possession and live in it
In a spiritual sense, what steps of faith can you begin to take today, that will put you closer to living in your promised land? What is your promised land? Do not be satisfied with the other side of the Jordan. Let’s dwell in God’s promises.
