Psalms 56, 120, 140-142 – April 16

I found a similarity in every chapter of today’s reading assignment.

 56:5 All day long they distort my words;

120:2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue.

140:3 They sharpen their tongues as a serpent; Poison of a viper is under their lips.

141:3 Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips.

142:1 I cry aloud with my voice to the Lord; I make supplication with my voice to the Lord.

 

Did you catch it? Oh, the danger, the trouble, and the blessing that can be caused by such a simple thing – speech.

 

Father, please help me to

 - think prior to speaking –

- pray prior to thinking –

- and love through it all!
